Earlier earliest Bodine gig date discovered

1979-06-22 Weesp POC Bodine 7 November 2011: When it comes to tenacity in research, Martin Stassen is second to none! One again, he has raised the barrier by supplying Regular Rocker with the earliest Bodine gig thus far: 22 June 1979! Can it get any earlier? Only time will tell! Martin usually ends his fact-filled emails with the words: "More to follow!" It is exactly these words that RegularRockers in dire anticipation of his next email!!

Earliest Bodine live photos found in a dark corner on the web! Thanx to Martin Stassen's contribution (below), regularrocker was able to make a SENSATIONAL find on the web. It turns out that the earliest known Bodine gig was actually photographed!! The source is Carl Nieberg, who made a website about the Parochieel Ontspanningscentrum Weesp. Adding one and one in a google search lead to this unique find!

Jay leaves Bodine

1981-10-29 Hitkrant Bodine article tn1981-10-29 Hitkrant (NL)29 October 2011: According to the Hitkrant that appeared 30 years ago, ruptures started to show between Jay and the rest of the band. The news flash on page 3 suggests that the management was trying to glue the fracture, but the split turned out to be inevitable. Allegedly, the rest of the band was annoyed that Jay appeared in a TV-show on his own. The audiostream of the show hosted by Robert ten Brink can be heard here and is quite amusing:

Therefore, Regular Rocker believes that the real turbulence was kept under the lid. Imagine what it must have felt like for the band to lose their singer, after having looked for one for such a long time. The first album was only out for 8 months.
